Hello, I am Himani. I like reading and writing poetry. My inspiration usually comes from what I feel at the moment. I am an animal lover. I love dogs, the most. Not to forget, I once reared monarch butterfly larvae. I also like debating and declamations. Though I am not much athletic, swimming is my revered pastime.
If It Weren't
By Himani Dhaka
If it weren't for the snow
Warm sunshine be left uncherished
But in the scorching trials
I'd still wish to kiss the snow
If it weren't for those vulture gazes
Would I ever really know?
How soothing some eyes can be
A vision as comforting as a home
If it weren't for the blackouts
How could I shine so bright?
And through the dark days
I collected moments of subtle delight
If I hadn't been so high
I couldn't learn to be so low
The sparkles that glow around
Were once a part of a bigger whole
If it weren't the fights
What could remind me our love?
And through time and distance
I knew I must hold you even close
If there wasn't a death
Why would I live for life?
Or maybe life could make us realize
Death would one day be suffice.
